In 1973 Mike Oldfield, fresh from the release of Tubular Bells, was ensconced in a sprawling Oxfordshire manor home to record his Next Big Hit. He had worked up a version of the traditional Sailor's Hornpipe just for fun, and after a fairly serious round of drinking performed same on the move through the many rooms of the house, with sodden commentary by BBC personality Vivian Stanshall.
